Тащемта там есть и готики и доминаторы, и даже тираны, просто не отдельными корпусами. Тут можно понять - зачем плодить сущности?
Так вот. Описание Chalice из, как ты выразился, "хама-барыги" - оно по своей сути процентов на 70 совпадает с описанием бэка лонгсерпента/меркурия.
Не поленюсь и закину под спойлеры.
"Chalice class battlecruiser, Battlefleet Koronus"
The Chalice-class was a bold but not entirely successful attempt to further develop the concept of the Battlecruiser. The theory seemed sound: a fast Heavy Cruiser, with light armour and powerful weapons that could outrun and outmanoeuvre anything it could not immediately destroy. During the bleak middle years of the Angevin Crusade, much was made by Imperial propagandists of the new, locally manufactured "super-cruisers" planned to roll up the numerous xenos and Heretic empires arrayed against the Emperor's forces. Even though they only came into service as the Crusade ended, hopes for these vessels were immense. Early Chalice-class captains were lauded as glamorous, swashbuckling adventurers in endless Vox reels and data plays.
Sadly, the vessels failed to live up to expectations. Two of the original Chalice-class Battlecruisers were destroyed during an engagement with unknown xenos forces in the Hazeroth Abyss in 123.M40, and others were lost to accident or fleet engagements over the following millennia. Due to an active Inquisitorial campaign to conceal these military setbacks, these starships remain admired amongst the ignorant general Imperial public, who believe these vessels remain the iron core of Battlefleet Calixis. However, these sleek and beautiful warships, while fast and well-armed, have a glass jaw, and a disconcerting tendency to rupture plasma conduits under sustained assault.

In the waning years of Abaddon's Incursion, the Adeptus Mechanicus Artisans of Hydraphur and the officers of Battle Fleet Pacificus faced a dilemma. In supporting Battle Fleet Obscuras the problem with pirate bands had become acute and the lack of speed among the standard Imperial cruiser designs meant that the tactical initiative remained with the pirates. At the direction of Admiral Knightsbridge the Tech Mages of Hydraphur designed and built in record time, the Long Serpent class battle cruiser.
Built from the keel up as a pirate hunter the Long Serpents combined a basic cruiser layout with the engine suite normally used on a battleship. The result was a faster much more powerful cruiser with the speed to keep up with the raiders and the firepower to deal with them as an independent unit. All this improved performance came at a price. While the engines produced battleship power, the armour protection remained that of a cruiser. When hit by multiple salvos from the Chaos cruisers Pustulent Boil and Fearmonger the Long Serpent class Scylla suffered a warp drive implosion every bit a fierce as that of any battleship destroying her entire squadron of assigned escorts and heavily damaging the battleship Mailed Fist. The plasma drive overload that destroyed the Medusa also shattered the Lunar class cruiser Lord Chalfont leaving a convoy of Imperial Guard reinforcements to the mercies of an Ork raiding squadron.
As the war winds down, limited numbers of Long Serpents are finding their way into the fleets of both the Obscuras and Pacificus Segmentums. The Long Serpent class Battle Cruiser Nemesis destroyed single-handed an Ork Terror Ship and three Ravagers. The Gorgon claimed the Eldar Shadow class cruiser Swift Striker while protecting a vital supply convoy.
Меркурий появляется уже в листе Бакки и полностью дублирует правила и модель Лонг Серпента. Один и тот же тип кора[эх жаль], просто почему-то с разными названиями: возможно, потому что Длинный Змей звучит как-то не в соответствии с имперскими стандартами именования типов.
А вот насчет сравнения Чалиса и Меркурия/Лонг серпента интереснее: обе цитаты говорят нам о том, что изначально было построено два кора[эх жаль], что это был экспериментальная конструкция, что они должны были охотиться на пиратов, что оба были разрушены и что они имеют тенденцию плохо переносить повреждения.
При этом на том же лексикануме Чалис и Меркурий имеют две разные статьи.
И не в топку ни в коем случае. Я на данный момент собираю каликсидский флот. Чалис - один из знаковых его кораблей. Значит хоть один, но нужен.
