eye, что great, что с каким другим эпитетом, - совершенно нейтральное слово. а вот око - нет. в случае с варп-штормом еще есть "глаз бури".

в косвенных падежах они оба смешные: в Глазе / в Оке Ужаса. как раз обменялись парой комментариев с Кашиваги, мне вот нравится, что "глаз" звучит анатомичнее - it's alive же. но, строго говоря, в отсутствие стилизации под старинный текст оба варианта равноценны.
