А, ну с контекстом другое дело конечно. Но тем не менее "Не думаю, что она вам подойдет" не совсем хорошо звучит. Вот так может - Я бы хотел взглянуть на эту маску, - сказал Раннох. - Мне кажется это не то что вы ищете, - ответила Крэгг. или - Думаю, это не то что вы ищете, - ответила Крэгг. Ещё меня здесь несколько смущает слово mechanical/машинально, явно оно ту было употреблено в значении типа lacking feeling, а учитывая что reservation одним из значений имеет сомнение то может должно быть как-то так (ну и в свете далее происходящего): - Я бы хотел взглянуть на эту маску, - сказал Раннох. - Мне кажется это не то что вы ищете, - ответила Крэгг. Кардиналу показалось что высказанное сомнение прозвучало недостаточно уверенно. Крэгг на секунду прикрыла глаза, словно давая понять, что её голос звучал не так решительно как должен был. Хотя много отсебятины конечно.

Не только, в книгах это постоянно подчеркивают, например про Ту'Шана: prodigious чрезмерный, непомерный, очень большой изумительный, поразительный, удивительный чудовищный; необыкновенный, неестественный Понятно что все примархи обладали силой поболее обычных смертных или астартес. Но вот про Вулкан упоминают явно почаще отчего у меня сложилось впечатление что он сильней остальных будет. Хотя могу ошибаться конечно.

Ну тут часто бывают не самые новые арты, вот у меня конкретно этого не было, пардон :) Спасибо, кстати, за большее разрешение, утащил себе. з.ы. насчет палитры не совсем согласен, не любитель задранного контраста и цветовой насыщенности.

Вообще какой-то странный отрывок, я не совсем понимаю почему продавец, если он хитрый, специально ныкает и принижает значение товара, он же тогда его не продаст дороже? Не могу представить себе такую ситуацию в реальном магазине =) Или там какой-то другой подтекст?

Плюс вроде как физически самый сильный. Периодически про это в книгах упоминается. (возможно, такая форма псайкерства?)

In the case of Sons of the Forge, the short story ‘Artefacts’ is reprised in part. Set entirely around a conversation between Vulkan and T’kell, their discussion directly concerns the primarch’s many forged weapons and other items, his ‘artefacts’. The opening of the novel has a scene taken directly from this story but seen from a different character’s point of view, and then also reveals what happened next. By comparing both scenes, I wanted the reader to get a deeper understanding of both characters’ motivations as well as reveal some hitherto hidden meanings embedded in the original story."

BL и Кайм продолжают подогревают интерес к книге: "One of the most enduring and cryptic parts of the Salamander lore concerns the fabled Artefacts of Vulkan, or ‘the Nine’ as they are also known. Legend holds that Vulkan forged nine incredible items and scattered them across the galaxy. When all were found again it would herald the return of Vulkan and a final climactic battle. So goes the myth… Several of the artefacts have been found, their provenance apparently divined through the esoteric Tome of Fire, a sort of treasure map, albeit comprised of several disparate sources, bequeathed by Vulkan to his Legion and now Chapter. What is not known is the nature of the remaining artefacts, why Vulkan only forged nine and how they came to be lost in the first place. Sons of the Forge answers two of these questions in full and also hints at the third, though I won’t reveal which ones. This myth, or rather the creation of it, is the root of the story and the motivation for the characters who drive it, enacting a final mission from their primarch and in doing so unwittingly forging for themselves a legend."

Each of its predecessors dealt with a different part of the Horus Heresy saga. In Promethean Sun, it’s the time of the Great Crusade, in a traditional war story that flirts a little with foreshadowing what we know is to come. Scorched Earth is altogether bleaker and set in the ruination of Isstvan V after the battle is over and survival the only objective. Sons of the Forge is even further on into the timeline, during a period of great uncertainty for the Salamanders and a final mission that will, in about ten thousand years, be consigned to myth. This third volume is considerably longer than its predecessors (both were novella length stories), almost double the size in fact, and actually overlaps with one of the major novels in the Horus Heresy series, Deathfire. I won’t spoil the plot of that for anyone yet to read it, but the start of Sons of the Forge takes place towards the end of Deathfire but the characters are referenced in this novel. If you read both back to back, you’ll appreciate where the seams of both stories join. "

Была такая вроде как эксклюзивная антология для какого-то weekender'ра пару лет назад, рассказ оттуда :)

Очередной Digital Monday, очередной рассказ. Отдельное переиздание рассказа "Кружат ли орлы до сих пор над горой?" из сборника Honour of the Space Marines. Ага, та же самая книга, ничего нового судя по описанию. Возможно, её просто решили в бумаге издать и не зная куда приткнуть выбрали Space Marine Legends. Думаю, в лимитированном варианте не будет, простая твердая обложка как с Рагнаром и Кассием. Хотя фиг его знает конечно, с BL станется и в лимитированном варианте издать, деньжат срубить. з.ы. как там, кстати, dima_v Лемартеса переводить не начал, кто знает? Вроде раньше текста не было, сейчас уже всё есть. Почитать охота :)

Судя по амазону, лимитку Lemartes: Guardian of the Lost решили издать в серии Space Marine Legends. Не совсем понятно зачем, если она уже и так доступна в цифре http://www.blacklibrary.com/all-products/lemartes-ebook.html (денех сильно надо?) Так в этой серии про всех же напишут, никого не пропустят, чего ругаться-то :) Про кого-то раньше, про кого-то позже, какая в общем-то, разница, главное чтобы хорошо написали. Вот первая книга про Жиллимана совсем унылой вышла, а вот Русс оказался сильно лучше. Надеюсь и с Магнусом не подкачают и со всеми остальными.
