I can confirm 100% that escalation is NOT being used at throne of skulls, but stronghold is being used. GW is releasing a statement soon saying that escalation is to be an expansion ("like planet strike") and that Stronghold is an update to the main rule book.

No word yet on whether they will ban the two Aquila Strongpoints (the str D cannon and missile ones) from their tournaments, but like previously said I am 100% that escalation is NOT being used, whereas Stronghold IS.

I was at Kill Team Maximus at Warhammer World yesterday and spoke with one of the guys there. It's a set of Kill Team rules - including six new missions, updated specialist rules and new break test rules (models now test individually rather than the whole team).

Уточнения по слухам о 7ке:

http://natfka.blogspot.ru/2013/12/7th-edit...40k-not-65.html

So, here's the breakdown for areas of interest as they stand.

Interceptor is being unhooked from skyfire

Skyfire lets targets shoot at Flyers at full BS, but ground targets only as snapfire.

Interceptor lets you shoot enemy reserves at the end of the enemy's movement phase.

They will no longer interact and let a target hit both ground and flying units with full BS.

A new universal rule will be introduced to be combo'd with skyfire to represent co-axle weapons.

Interceptor being slightly re-arranged. Units will need to Nominate that they will be intercepting during their own shooting phase, in order to be eligible to use the rule in the subsequent enemy turn. If they then use interceptor, they will still be unable to shoot in their following shooting phase, but can nominate to intercept again.

Right now interceptor is seen by the team as being too strong, and a no-drawback decision. i.e. you shoot with it, if your opponent brings in reserves you get free shooting. If they don't bring on reserves you act normally next turn.

This flip will make it so that a tactical employment of interceptor (with a bit of gambling) will need to be employed. Smart generals may manipulate reserve rolls to delay reserves while an opponent is set to intercept, getting away with not being shot and then not presenting targets or they may bring their units on wholesale after forcing an opponent to shoot at their already-present units for whatever reason, thus denying them the option to intercept.

This was an original thought for 6th, but was cut because it was seen as "too much to keep track of," but now with tokens and markers being so prevalent it should see its way back in.

Character models with pistols will be able to make one attack using their pistol in Close Combat instead of the usual +1 attack if they want (they may always just use it as +1).

This may be opened up to all models or just models that are actively taking advantage of gunslinger (making all their attacks use pistols), but right now it's seen as something that "slows the game down."

The new rules for fortifications will be in the big book (in so far as how building damage, occupation etc)

The new rules for lords of war will be in the big book (but may see changes to D weapons).

More rules are there for if only one player takes a LoW, representing either the player with it having to use such a devastating weapon because of a critically important mission, or that the LoW is the objective itself for the team without it (i.e. destroying a titan is the basis for some campaigns in the fluff, let alone missions).

Dataslates will be in the new book, but are going to be modified. They will still be self contained, but will most likely occupy the ally slot, or if nothing else, lock your ally to being that book.

i.e. if you take a tau dataslate, you can only take tau as allies.

The big words on the board are still "Let people take what they want and play with what they want" but it's being counter balanced with making it fair, competitive and within reasonable limits of the fluff.

I know that the original intention of letting people pick up 1 HQ and a unit for a new army and adding it to an existing force for a fresh alternative / marketing incentive to start a new army has been received as a relative "failure" by the developers and the consensus is that allies feel mandatory in order to play competitively, even outside of the WAAC combos that exist. So this is the biggest area of contention.

As we know Imperial Guards and Orks will be released in the first part of 2014. as well as an update of Armageddon campaign, Black Templars Supplement will come in the same time.

Because Templars have a lot of fluff around Armageddon.

GW is going to make (or remake) a Campaign for Armageddon with updated fluffs and missions scenarios.

As they are changing the helmet model of the Steel Legions, they will have to make new artwork for that.

And it's logical that it should be released between Imperial Guards and Orks. (as there is no other 40k codex between them)

FW super-heavy type models will just get their rules printed into the codex under the Lords of War sections.

Новый слух про ИГ и модельный ряд в целом

ia an anonymous source on Faeit 212

I have seen pictures of plastic 10 man squads of steel legion and imperial guard veterans. The steel legion appear to be pushfit plastic and are plastic re-sculpts. There is also a big tank seen, but no additional information right now.

All finecast has been discontinued and no models will be made in finecast. This currently only applies to 40k to test how it works with the community.

I have heard a rumour that GW are moving to a stage where they want to make more troops as pushfit models, and use multipart plastic sprues or elite/fast attack/heavy support models, to reduce consumer prices for more commonly purchased troop choices.

You can expect pushfit for named characters and multipart plastic for generic hq.

A Cipher model is done that appears to be pushfit, and I expected it to be released with the dataslate which did not happen, so perhaps something is coming.

Forgeworld Confirmations of Being Sold in GW Stores

There has been a lot of rumors from various sources that changes are coming regarding how Forgeworld is sold beyond the current Forgeworld Store. Rumors have Forgeworld models and books being sold in GW stores as early as March of this year, and now some confirmations of this happening are coming in.

I think this would be a great service at Games Workshop stores, to really expose more of the community to Forgeworld models that otherwise does not get the exposure. Perhaps even marketing posters and such would start appearing as well.

Please remember that these are rumors.

Regarding Forgeworld Products being sold at GW stores

Several GW Stores in Europe & US confirmed the orderability of FW via shops from march.

Every customer should then be able to order via the Online Shop or Store Archive Service for Products.

Regarding the Leman Russ:

Vehicles & Ordnance Weapons: Unlike other units, vehicles can move and fire with Ordnance weapons, but can only make Snap Shots with its other weapons that turn.

A vehicle that remained Stationary can fire all of its weapons, including Ordnance weapons.

An interesting note:

Ignore cover USR: the target receives -2 on it's cover save. Template weapons ignore all cover saves.

Vehicles ignore the "Gets hot" USR.

I bought the new tyranid codex to share it with my fellow gamers yesterday.

Pyrovore remains largley unchanged save that it gets slight boost to wounds, attacks and initiative.

Its cost is slightly reduced while acid maw attack is given at a bit higher strength but at the cost of making only single attack.

Mawlocs and trygon both are cheaper. Mawloc especially is about 20~25% cheaper.

Mawloc's special rule Terror from the Deep is still much same......except that when the damage is resolved hiding in ruin or cover of other kind is literally useless.

Mawloc can also resolve damage(via Terror from the Deep) more than once if there isn't enough space.

Shadow in the Warp gives penalty to nearby enemy psykers' leadership.

Harpy is also cheaper. Its wounds and attacks are slightly boosted.

Carnifex and tyrannofex both became considerably cheaper. Around 25~30 percent or so.

Carnifex can still take devourer with brainleech worms which remains same as before.(Just without its penalty to enemy leadership)

It has less attacks and slightly higher initiative, but it can inflict more than one Hammer of Wrath hits.

Both types of gaunts became slightly cheaper albeit the upgrades are bit more expensive.

Zoanthropes are also cheaper.

And as forementioned in my previous replies, impaler cannons will be the bane of eldar wave serpents if they come within range.

As for biomorphs, crushing claws are changed in a way that they don't give extra attacks but are more effective against vehicles plus strength buff.

Regeneration probability became much higher.

Tentaclids and electroshock grubs are effective against vehicles(Bionic EMP I suppose)

Other than some boosted version of already existing shooting attack, I see no significant difference.

Taking account of its crushing claws, Haruspex has decent strength(stronger than mawloc, weaker than carnifex) with small number of attacks.

It however can increase its attacks depending on how many wounds it suffered, while at the same time can regain the wounds.

Its blood is also acid while its tongue attack can pierce terminator armour.

Boneswords inflict Instant Death depending on to-wound roll while lash whip boosts wielder's initiative.

Warlord traits include buff to synapse range, reducing cover, turning a forest into more carnivorous one, etc.

Psychic powers include another buff to synapse range, FNP, pinning test with additional leadership modifier, pseudo-psychic shriek etc.

Last thing. Malantai is NOT destroyed by a single zoanthrope.

And no more steel rain for tyranids.

Forgeworld and Finecast Changes are Underway

The changes to Forgeworld and Finecast production have begun earlier today according to rumors. Withe Finecast production reported as ending, the freed up capacity is said to be moving over to Forgeworld production, possibly in sight of increased production and sales when Forgeworld products become more readily available.

Please remember that these are rumors.

via a Tim on Faeit 212

Those who are responsible for the Production of Finecast have been relocated Today (7.1.14).

Free capacity will then probably used for FW.

GW "Blackshirts" will in March informed that FW can be ordered in all Stores.

There will be an announcement this Saturday. The monthly White Dwarf magazine is history. There will be a small weekly white dwarf magazine and a new monthly magazine, called "warhammer: visions", 230 pages strong(!!!). This will start in February.

Also there is a meeting in February for every European "black shirt" in England. Maybe for the new GW website, including FW. :)

via a must be kept anonymous source on Faeit 212

As a heads up, you're going to be getting emails about "weekly white dwarf mini magazines."

It's called White Dwarf Visions and it's true.

They will focus on talking about the hobby and community more so than being a sales magazine.

Новый тип вайтдварфа. Есть надежда, что там будут даташиты и т.п.

Forgeworld Models Allowed in Official GW Events

We have been talking for a long time and frequently about the integration of Forgeworld models into Warhammer 40k. There have been mixed messages from Games Workshop on the issue, especially in events at Warhammer World. While Forgeworld's production and products are merging into Games Workshop more, Forgeworld will become more and more accepted into the mainstream games.

This is the beginning. We have been told this was the case by insiders, that Games Workshop considers Forgeworld legal, and even Aaron Dembski-Bowden commented that this is the case (very good author from the black library who gets to sit in on meetings).

Forgeworld is running an event that was just announced, and yes....... Forgeworld and escalation is all being allowed.

via an anonymous source on Faeit 212

The events team at warhammer world announced a few days ago a new event called the triathlon. Its a 3 day event combining Kill Team, Battle Brothers and Throne of Skulls. But the big news is that they have announced Forgeworld models, including those from the Escalation FAQ, will be allowed in this tournament.
