The completion of ray latest operation on Beta Anphelion IV signals the end of this experimental phase of the Anphelion Project.
It was with great satisfaction that I signed the Exterminatus order for Beta Ar.phelion IV. The facility had long ago proved ineffective for the purposes it was established for. Experiments to reverse the super-evolutionary traits of the Tyranids had all ended in abject failure. It fell to me to close down the base and purge the garrison. Instead, I turned the facility to a far better use. Uy agent on Beta Anphelion IV arranged for the sabotage of the containment fence, thus exposing the facility's inhabitants to the Tyranids and providing the perfect testing ground for our 'Anphelion Project1. The sacrifice of the 1,500 strong garrison was a necessary step to attain our far greater objective, and a small price to pay in a war for Mankind's very survival.
The demise of Inquisitor Solomon Lok not only eliminated a potential political rival (and I believe a dangerous puritan with contacts amongst the outlawed Vindictas faction within the Qrdo Xenos), but provided us with rnuch needed evidence, before moving to the next phase of the project. In death, Lok has served the Emperor's {and our own), purposes well.
The forces I selected for deployment onto Beta Anphelion IV have provided toe with all the data I require to move to the next phase of the Anphelion Project.
Progenoid samples and data I have requested and received from the Waster of the Apothecary of the Red Scorpions Chapter has been analysed in detai-. Given the strike force's excellent performance during the project I believe the Chapter's geneseed is perfectly suited to be the basis of our proposed new founding. The Chapter's geneseed has proved to be remarkably untainted, retaining of all zygote functions. Uy Biologis1 only concern being to regulate the over-active Betcher's Gland common to the entire Chapter, and adapt the Omophagea's activity to better suit the new Chapter's future role.
The data the Chapter has provided for roe will help to sway the members of the Conclave that the founding of new Chapters is now a step closer to being realised. These Red Scorpions' Successor Chapters would form the core of a fighting force, to be placed at our disposal, with the specific mission of halting and then annihilating forever the Tyranid race.
It is ray firm belief that so far our efforts to halt the advance of this alien menace have been hampered by restrictive bureaucracy and an overly pessimistic analysis of the nature of the enemy. The Tyranid foe is defeatable, as I proved by my operations on Dantris IV. It will take the single-minded will of a leader able to take the necessary actions, and given the necessary resources. The Inquisitorial Representative on Holy Terra has twice denied me the right to lift the ban on the founding of new Space Marine Chapters. iVith the aid of the Red Scorpion's geneseed, adapted to better resist the effects of th« Hive Uind, I believe our new Chapter a would prove the greatest bulwark against the hated alien, heports of the actions of special unit u-99 have also interested oe greatly, ^ince bantris IV was saved, the possibility of creating new Imperial Guard reginents using the ejtpri—B>eJ techniques I first sanctioned on Dantrls IV, and which have again proved so effective on Beta Anphelion IV, also noved a step closer. V.ith regionts of such troops at our conrsnd. He could launch a crusade to recaoture those worlds lost to the Kraken, and, in time, eventually drive the hive fleets to extinction.
For this is our divinely inspired purpose, let nothing stand in our way...
This AstroDathic transoission was intercepted and decrypted by the Ordo Hereticus Sanctum Telepathica, and brought to the attention of the Officio of the Inquisitorial Representative on Bakka.
By direct order of the Inquisitorial heuresentative, Inquisitor-Lord Varius, (lately Advocate Judge to the Conclave of Har, Count of Uantris, Cleanser of bumansca; has been placed under investigation by the Urdo llereticus upon suspicion, of exceeding his Inquisitorial mandate with regard to the above naeed ■Anphelion Project'. further investigations are also to be ::iade into to actions of the Red Scorpions Chapter with regard to this matter.
Lord Varius' unsound nethods reprosent a threat the the stability of the Bnaror's rule, and can only be tolerated whilst he continues to produce excellent results against the Tyranid hive fleets (see related files on the Dantris IV campaign and the Cleansing of Duiansca). For the tirae being, his access to proscribed biologis-data regarding the Tyranids continues to be useful in the or.-going fight, but remains the nost danung evidence of his heresy should action need to be taken against hi*u
Lord Varius' continued close surveillance, and the uncovering and identifying of his allied faction is a setter of priority for the Ordo Hereticus. Further action awaits the HepresenUtive's sanction before being forwarded to the Officio Assassinorura's ^*"'-«"« teaple or.
