I should add that the current white dwarf team has been disseminated into the ranks and a new, separate office (but not a third party) has taken over white dwarf.

This new office fueled by a former magazine and blog publishing company that has had the fleshy bits replaced with model enthusiasts. This is now a magazine filled with hobbiests, not hobbiests trying to publish a magazine.

Ok boys and girls. Not going so far as to call these rumors, as I have word only of some drawn art assets, but it could point to potential models and rules so passing it along.

First:

Ravenwing.

Got some art of an attack bike with what could be a plasma blaster in the gunner side. definitely plasma. but multiple barrels. could also just be TLPG but the source said it was one weapon not side by side when asked.

Second shot has a squadron of bikes, 6 bikes + attack bike riding down orks, in the air is a landspeeder, but it has underslung missle pods. Could certainly be creative license.

Deathwing.

Got art of Termie with a plasma cannon, back pack and hoses running behind.

Termies fighting chaos, one with LC and Cyclone launcher, the rest SB and PF, SGT in front with PS. Lends credence to mixed squads being present.

Other.

Art of supposed new flyer does very much resemble the lightning, with a landspeeder-esque body.

Shot of chaplain in TA fighting a hellbrute. So obviously wasn't meant for DV as that chaplain is PA.

Techmarine firing unknown weapon. Looks like a punisher cannon. supported with servo harness and held at hip. one servo arm is feeding belt ammo into it.

Like I said, no idea if any of this will be used, but it certainly is interesting towards rumors.

Could that Techmarine weapon be the new siege weapon you mentioned earlier?

Doubtful, the siege weapon was described as a tracked platform...like the thunderfire. this art is a single techmarine with a heavy weapon.

One thing, I've gotten a lot of rumors winging my way of techmarines. IMHO I am not certain some of it might not be for something else down the road. There is no particular fluff reason I'm aware of DA would have a greater than normal emphasis on TM. Iron hands, sure. But not DA.

Edit: Or possible as a first founding chapter there is just more artificer armor present and the art is being mistaken for techmarines...

The new aircraft sounds like it's sleeker than the Storm Talon, which is also promising. Don't count on it...my source called it a "Pregnant Albatross". Said it has a big engine intake behind the cockpit.

Cypher was going to be the bonus model in the Dark Vengeance Limited Edition set.

There was additional fluff that involved how he set up the events.

The model was replaced with the Interrogator chaplain and the fluff portions removed.

It's not a leak, it's not a fake, it's just something that went nowhere.

До нового года или уже после в журнале WD выйдут новые типы фортификаций от 5-7 базовых новых фортификаций и новые укрепления для почти каждой армии. Например, ИГ получит окопы (3+ кавер для пехоты). Хаос сможет кораптить бункеры. Те, кто не получат укрепления получат новые опции к существующим, например СМ получат орудие и что-то еще, а хаос - алтарь. Соответственно, к этому приурочено издание новых пластиковых наборов.

Мой дорогой халявщик.

Я знаю, ты уже устал ждать и в душе люто меня ненавидишь. Возможно ты даже настолько сильно меня ненавидишь, что готов пойти на то, чтобы начать писать ростеры на бумажке (о ужас!) от руки или даже уйти в другому автору баз или вообще пересесть на сторонние программы. Но я верю, что работа моя идёт не зря, и многие её всё таки дождались.

Прошу понять - сейчас у меня достаточно сложно со свободным временем. Немного поменялись приоритеты в жизни, немного устал от40k, немного занялся личной жизнью, и неоплаченный труд стал для меня немного лишним. На какой-то момент мне показалось, что я никогда не сяду за редактор, но это как наркотик, вы же знаете.

В общем работы ещё непочатый край, а ждать уже никто не в силах. Всем хочется собирать читополомную имбу и нагибать своих бывших друзей в клубе, так что не буду отказывать вам в вашем нарциссистичном удовольствии.

Выложу то, что есть. Некоторые изменения в редакции правил оказались слишком сложными, в частности - билдер наотрез отказывается нормально работать с союзниками (скажем привет Lone Wolf Development). В общем, добавлять союзников вы можете уже сейчас, но сообщения об ошибках по организации армии придётся игнорировать. Оставлю это на твоей совести, мой дорогой халявщик. Помни - армибилдер на заменит тебе мозг и знание своей же собственной армии. А на турнире судья тебе судья.

В плане множественных изменений в армии, которые появились через книжку и многочисленные FAQ\'и на сайте: эти изменения я подогнал пока только для кодексов Space Marines и Imperial Guard. Остальным придётся подождать. Возможно многие согласятся дописать для себя свою армию самим или же помочь мне.

Ну, и разумеется новый кодекс Chaos Space Marines ждёт новых и старых игроков. Прошу оценивать, писать пожелания и замечания. Помните - я всегда стараюсь стелать пользование билдером максимально удобным, хотя и не всё получается сделать так, как задумано. Всё таки 2.2с - достаточно сырая версия билдера, не зря от неё отказались. Но мы знаем, на что идём, верно?

В общем, спасибо за пользование моим полулегальным продуктом и удачи в будущих победах.

Helbrute is the only DV model getting a release soon. But don't expect it in 2012. All codex options are there, and the model looks fantastic, it should not be too...long of wait though.

One of the staffers has csm plague zombies on his/her desk. All conversions. Hard to tell from the new photography, these are really great conversions, so when they show up, no one get excited.

Thousand Sons will get the first plastic kit when they come out. But that doesn't mean others won't be out at the same time. I know that's cryptic, and it's on purpose.

There was a csm plastic revamp that was underway. I cannot get a response on if it is still coming or not, normally if something is scrapped people are straight forward. This much obfuscation tells me something is happening.

There is a bit of chaos scenery coming. It should please world eaters.

Just going to leave this here as the DA thread is closed now.

Looks like my sourcing is again off on timelines. So I'm putting in an update on it here, lots of things have changed to me since my last timeline thread. (I want to repeat, these are rumors, almost none of this really "changes" per se, GW's got their plan, I don't, I get information that aligns from a few sources and try to base what I tell you on that)

Was correct on WoC for Nov, as that's in the bag now, moving on to Dec.

Dec:

No DA. Boo. Hiss. Eating crow again. Looks like what we can expect for Dec is a lot of Hobbit as expected, and I believe a little surprise is still in store.

There is an outside possibility of 2 terrain pieces and 3 flyers, but I'm really expecting these now to be in a spring wave.

Jan:

Daemons. Still on track. Vetock doing WFB and 40k books, but I havent had confirmation that the books are actually coming in Jan. Expect Greater Daemons in plastic, a couple new chariots, a new daemon engine, and a couple new characters (well...characters which have never received models) Word is the Daemons update will not be a huge overhaul to the current book. Expect few new units. But the new GD models are phenomenal, love every one of them, especially the new GUO. None of the new units are single system, everything is in both 40k and WFB now.

Feb:

Hobbit/LOTR are the biggest contendors right now.

Might be a splash month for 40k in the form of that missing flyers wave. Still trying to get more info on when it might see light of day.

March:

Rumors point to WoC Army book. But with all the new models coming in Nov, I'm not sure what is left to release with it.

April:

New rumored slot for DA now. Yes, I'm sorry, rumoring sucks, you get told a lot and its very difficult to sort out what is fit to pass on and what is not.

However, I am being told some of those rumored generic SM kits may get released along side the DA codex and DA specific models. So thats something promising.

May:

WFB model wave and army book. High Elves I'm being told.

June:

Nothing hard, rumors range from the flyer wave to Tau to new fortifications to the 40k supplement book (allies?)

Lead contendor is the Flyers if they dont get an earlier slot.

July:

Most likely slot for this rummored 40k supplement book.

Beyond that:

Tau and Eldar are the only codexes with some weight behind it to come late in the year I expect Tau following DA, and right now it does look like Eldar will follow Tau.

I should also add the 2nd Horus Heresy book from FW is being rumored to me to be late Spring/Early Summer.

Deathwing

Honor Guard Terminator squad unlocked by select HQs (Belial - others???). One such unit per HQ, only one may carry a Chapter Banner. Other banners exist however. Models are W:2 WS/BS:5 Non-scoring. Can take Apothecary.

Elite Terminators are W:1, WS/BS:5. Unit has new CC options neverbefore seen on termys. Unit size max of 5. Vanguard Strike upon Deepstriking!

Troops Terminators are standard DW. Sergeant may upgrade to to Chaplain. Can take new options such as Plasma Cannon. Up to 10 models per unit. No more Cyclone/CC option on single models. Mix of CC and Ranged models still permitted withing unit.

Ravenwing

RW Command Squad is only unlocked by select HQ characters. One banner option for RW. No apothecary for RW, with a "Mini-Chaplain" upgrade instead. This option provide a Litanies buff his unit only.

Troop RW squad matches the current RW bike squad, minus the Speeder.

Robbin was gracious enough to answer some questions by one of our readers here, and Commissar-Lord Brusilov wrote up an excellent overview of that conversation. This is definitely worth your time to read, answers some questions about the Black Templar and codex creation, so sit back and enjoy on a hopefully quiet Sunday morning.

I attended the French Games Day last week-end and while I did not learn much about any upcoming releases (everyone is quite tight-lipped about that), I did have a long chat with Robin Cruddace (thanks again to him if he’s reading this for putting up with me).

Since he wouldn’t get into details of what’s coming up, I asked question regarding the development process, GW’s release schedule (in broad terms). Here is what I can remember from it :

- interestingly enough, Robin mentioned that they want to avoid releasing models without a Codex/Army book. He explained that new models drive book sales and vice versa. I forgot to ask him whether he tought new releases without a book may spark new interest in that army, but I don’t think it would have changed his answer ;

- he added that it takes basically a year to write a new codex ;

- he mentioned that models come first, the models designers sit down and come up with new ideas for units and then the rules designers create rules and background for them ;

- Speaking of rules, I asked him about folding the Black Templars into the vanilla Space Marines Codex, he semmed dubious it was doable, arguing that while Imperial Fists and Crimson Fists are very close and are both adhering to the Codex Astartes, Black Templars diverge a lot. He neither confirmed nor denied that the Templars would be folded into the future iteration of the Space Marines Codex ;

- Regarding Codices, he did say that they intend to try and get back to each army every four years (or so). He acknowledged some armies have fallen behind but mentioned that he has written army books or codices for armies that are yet to be released ;

- We talked a bit about the Sisters of Battle. While he did not confirmed they’re being worked on, he said that considering the age of the models it would be a very long process (Jes Goodwyn’s design sketches for the Heldrake, that a model designer had brought with him were dated of summer 2011 IIRC).

Robin was very open about GW’s marketing and sales policies, which I found very interesting :

- when I asked him why there was only one Codex release this year, he explained that if they released more this year, their financial results would skyrocket abnormally and shareholders would expect sales to be as good, if not better next year. Basically, they withheld releases to smooth over the results year to year ;

- I wondered why GW now has such a short release notice. Robin explained that they experimented with shortening the release notice, one step at a time, from six months, to three months, to a month, to a week. Every time GW did this, their sales increased (or so he said). Basically, GW wants us to surprise us and get us to spend our money impulsively, rather than plan ahead (not what Mr Cruddace said, rather what I get out of this) ;

- Robin explained that if you look at the lifespan of an edition (he said roughly five years), if you remove the months dedicated to the new rulebook, the new starter box for each of their flagship games, the months where GW release supplements (like Blood in the Badlands or Planetstrike), surprise releases (like Space Hulk or Dreadfleet), it leaves basically 36 months out of 60 months (5 years remember) for new releases, and firstly codices and army books ;

- I asked him how they playtested new rules. Robin explained they have an inhouse team dedicated to that and they call upon renowned tournament players to assist. When I asked him about an open beta for a new edition (like PP did for Warmachine Mk2), he did not seem to keen.

Finally, I asked him the running joke question I ask every rules designer I come across (especially now they’re officially in the background again) : “when are the Squats coming back?” Robin laughed and acknowledged that they’re back in the background but that they have no plans for them. Maybe when they’re done with everything else...

I hope this sheds some light into GW policies for our favourite games.

Еще слухи про дарков от Faeit 212. Во-первых, тактичке дарков обещают дать тяжелый огнемет (и марам в свое время тоже). Во-вторых, кто-то просочился в БЛ и узнал про книгу о рейвенвинге, которая делается, вроде как, на базе нового кодекса.

The new units in the ravenwing book are black knights they ride bikes and have plasma weapons and hammers with a ravens beak on the back they are the sammeal's elites and are almost ready for the deathwing also the deathshourd land speeders which use relics for the tower of angels attached to power generators to project a veil of darkness ahead of there squadron to protect there units and vengance class speeders with plasma cannons. Flyers seem to be dark talons which have hurricane bolters and nephilim fighters. The book is fantastic also. Was told when I asked if they would be in the codex that it was researched very deeply!
