Guess it is about time to bring the Tyranid Codex rumour discussion back to the news&rumour forum, with official information starting to flow.
General rumours:
Codex confirmed to be released 2nd January 2010 . Official announcement here:

Codex is written by Robin Cruddace (author of IG Codex) and has 96 pages. Cover here:

The Codex will put an emphasis on the horde aspect of Tyranids but will also allow for more specialised armies with more survivable units.
Units
Kelly confirmed 4 new races never before in a Tyranid Codex, with one of them dwarfing the Carnifex. The latter is certainly the Plastic Trygon (see pic2 and 3), that was confirmed by several unnamed sources. Some of the new race miniatures might be included in a 2nd wave release or keep their Forge World models for the time being (Malanthrope?).
Special characters including Old One Eye will return (including Red Terror?). They are not meant as individuals, but more like mutated survivors of a big war (says Kelly).
There may be a Hive Tyrant plastic kit with all options including wings. Uncertain.
A new WIP brood lord sculpt has been presented at the GW Design Studio Open Day in February (see pic 4 by philbrad2), not known if it is part of the release though.
Trygon multipart plastic kit with a.o. a Zoantroph-like head and other variants. One source says basically three options.
Malanthrope may be one of the four new races. An HQ choice. One of the new HQs is said to allow ripper swarms to controll objectives (Malanthrope?).
Hopefully a new Gargoyle plastic box.
Hormagaunts in separate box from other Gaunts. According to Xas Hormagaunts will be 6 points and normal Gaunts 3 points including Without Number (WON). Hormagaunts will be able to buy WON for the same cost as the current Termagants. Also according to Xas Genestealers are going to be elite unless you take a Broodlord (who can supposedly be upgraded much more than the current one.) There is a vague rumour that GW wants to get rid of calling all gaunts with different weapons "different species", but just Gaunts or Termagants with different weapon options. Not sure if this will have any consequences ruleswise.
Warriors with major improvements: Wings will make them Fast Attack, a Tyrant as a HQ makes them troops, heavy support have +1t, +1sv and each can take a "heavy" weapon.
More anti-tank power confirmed by Kelly.
Max Jet is certain that we will see another new biovore sculpt.
Catachan Devils?
Mieotic Spore Sacs? Looks like one is featured on the cover. And GW doesn't need to design a new species.
One new race may be a Zoantroph/Lictor mix (same as Zoantroph/Trygon mix mentioned above?). Tyranids have supposedly got ahold of an alpha+ level psyker and integrated his DNA into the swarm meaning they will have about as many psychic powers to choose from as space marines (and they are all assumed to "make world wolf look like a child's game").
Models
3 new plastic Kits and 3 new metal models are officially confirmed as "released alongside the Codex" (more in a second wave?):
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/co...p?aId=4600015a
Candidates for plastic:
Trygon (confirmed by multiple sources, see attached pics)
Gargoyles (top priority on everybody's wish list)
Ravenors (rumour source Dakka)
Tyrant with all options including wings (maybe not so likely)
plus a likely repackaging of the gaunt box, separating Hormagaunts from the rest.
Candidates for metal:
Biovore (someone confirmed that)
Brood Lord (one model seen pic4, but may be test model not to be released)
Malanthrope?
New Species
Honorable mention goes to the new Genestealer models from Space Hulk, which technically are not part of the Codex release but are a nice addition to the new Tyranid model range. They are well known by now and covered elsewhere.
