I keep getting questions about a Tyranids Codex release and here's some info.

1. This is a model release no Tyranids codex.

2. A Campaign book will be released and if I remember correctly it's called Leviathan.

3. Blood Angels are still coming.

4. There will be a starter set that contains BA and Tyranids. It will be similar to Storm Claw.

5. Hope to update Blood Angel rumors this week.

In the rules for the Sporocyst it says "can produce a single Mucolid spore (pg 52) instead". The rules for the Mucolid Spore are on pg18 of the White Dwarf. This might point towards a White Dwarf compendium or the rules being in the campaign book.

Also, the Tyrannocyte box comes with 6 Spore Mines, and the rules for all the new Tyranid creatures will be added to the FAQ as they are released for sale (not preorder).

The box kit for tyranids coming out next weekend is a Venomthrope-Zoanthrope dual kit that will come with 3 models. The exciting part is that there is a new zoanthrope character upgrade called a Neurothrope, which very much sounds like the old Doom of Malanti. it comes with a spirit leech -warp charge 1, that targets an enemy unit within 18". Leadership check on 3d6 or suffer a wound by each point the test was failed with no armour or cover saves. Each wound also adds 1 to your dice pool for Warp Blasts.

Shield of Baal is the first release for the campaign. There will be more. It comes in two hardback books and in a slipcase.

book 1 comes with all the details on the invasion- background

includes the invasion of the Cryptus System, called the shieldworlds of Baal.

the astra militarum, blood angels and even the sisters of battle are mentioned here.

book 2 is rules including, Echoes of War scenarios (6), a cities of death expansion with 6 new missions, death from the skies rules for aerial combat.

Forces of Leviathan: a new detachment for Tyranids with warlord traits, datasheets for new units, and new formations.

Asdrubael Vect is the one thing that I am personally missing out of the new Dark Eldar codex. I have been pouring through it for several weeks now, and getting a Dias of Destruction and Vect on foot would be a dream come true..... Of course there are other characters I would like to see back, but Vect would be a great start, and with all these Tyranid releases without a dex, it brightens the prospects of a Dark Eldar release.

Of course we now also have someone who has seen the pics, and has a rough timeline for us for a Vect release.

Nightfury has been commenting on the site for sometime now, and always has seemed to have good information or a heads up on what is going on. He also has been very direct on what he is saying, often his comments getting buried and forgotten. While of course information must be considered to be rumors until we get some solid info (something official or leaked images), its worthwhile sharing what sometimes gets buried in the comment section here.

DE LoW Vect coming to a FLGS near you in the not too distant future

Keep ypur wallets open for the DE LoW Vect.. it'll ne sometime in the beginning of 2015

I've also been told DE will receive a LoW in the form of a new Vect/Dais with a WD rules release though the time frame is uncertain.. I've personally seen pics so i know for a fact the model has been produced.

DE will be getting their LoW well before you see any of the hardcover dexes getting updated/reprinted... id wager they decide to release vect sometime soon after christmas

- Venomthropes look excessively good (IMO)

- On the cover of the Paint Guide is a Broodlord, I first thought it was the one from SH when glancing at it but realized it was actually a model I didn't know.

- Rules for Zoans broods in the WD.

- Shield of Baal is AM + Tempestus + SoB vs Nids. Rules inside are for Nids. It's a Nagash type of dual books.

- It is the first part of a campaign, those are the worlds actually protecting the BA ones.

- End of the WD said that in the next one we will be back to ET.

- First it's a campaign book, not a box. English only and alas quite costly, it's close to the Nagash book in term of price but looks close to the Glottkin one in page count.

- Probably because the WD is so small and they had lot of other things to present (most notably hobby stuff) they go in far less depth about the content than I was hoping.

- From a fluff PoV, out of the factions taking part in that campaign it's interesting to note the presence of an Order of SoB (Order of the Rose or something similar) and Vostroyan.

- Also millions of Cadians since apparently they reproduce so fast they are everywhere in the Galaxy whatever happens. I suspect the Nids are actually attacking because they are sick of all those Cadians stealing their food.
