БИТВА ЗА ТРАНКС

Немногие миры страдали под бичом ереси и предательства как мир-улей Транкс (Thranx) в Солнечном Сегменте. Со дня его освобождения во время Великого Крестового Похода до дня его Экстерминатуса Темными Ангелами Транкс был рассадником анархии и разрушения. В течение 36 тысячелетия вдохновленное чужими восстание прорвалось среди монолитных экваториальных теплоотводов, которые управляли атмосферой и теплообменом всего мира-улья. Чужие, управляющие повстанцами, хотели заполучить мир для своих собственных целей, но наткнулись на упорное сопротивление Губернатора Графа Момерия. Он без колебания послал свои собственные отборные механизированные полки против позиций мятежников. По его команде десять тысяч танков класса "Леман Русс" прогрохотали по бесконечным крышам и террасам, густой сетью покрывающих мир-улей.

Гордые танки Губернатора были уничтожены в течение одного дня из лазпушек и земляных вибро-орудий повстанцев, размещенных высоко на ступенях зиггуратоподобных теплоотводов. Когда танки продвигались среди открытых крыш, мятежники их просто планомерно уничтожили. Более пяти тысяч разрушенных остовов остались на поле битвы. Губернатор Меморий был опрометчивым человеком и послал оставшиеся полки на следующий день снова, на сей раз, правда, им предшествовала массированная бомбардировка с орбитальных мониторов и наступательных кораблей. К несчастью повреждения, нанесенные защитным позициям повстанцев, были уравновешены изрытыми кратерами шоссе и мостами, по которым вынуждены были продвигаться танки. Еще две тысячи развалин пополнили апокалептический пейзаж поля битвы прежде, чем полки дрогнули и опять отступили. К тому времени мятежники подняли температуру по всей планете и миллионы жителей умирали от тепловых ударов и обезвоживания. Отчаявшись, Губернатор Момерий инструктировал его Астропатов запросить помощь от Адептов Земли. К его счастью боевая баржа ОРДЕНА ЖЕЛЕЗНЫХ ДЛАНЕЙ Адептус Астартес проходила неподалеку от Транкса и изменила свой курс, чтобы предотвратить превращение Транкса в еще один мертвый мир. Роты Железных Рук на борту были значительно обескровлены в туннельных сражениях кампании на Колыме, но транспорты были не повреждены. Их лидер, Коммандер Сиен, решил провести наступление, используя горстку своих "Лэнд Рейдеров" и уцелевшие танки Губернатора для поддержки. Сиен взорвал мелта заряды, и танки, рыча движками, разъяренно бросились в атаку, "Кастет" впереди, "Лэнд Рейдер"-три обеспечивает огневую поддержку. Два боевых танка достигли второй платформы, рассеяв вражескую пехоту и получив множество попаданий. Третья и последняя платформа была блокирована захваченным "Леман Руссом", его боевое орудие уставилось на Сиена, стоило только его танку появиться из-за поворота. Еще раз Император уберег Сиена, и удар только разрушил один из оружейных спонсонов "Рейдера". Развернув танк так, чтобы пустить в ход неповрежденные лазпушки, Сиен пронзил "Леман Русс" когерентными световыми разрядами. Чтобы освободить дорогу, он продолжал стрелять в танк, пока тот не был превращен в расплавленный остов. Сокрушив оплавленные развалины траками, он оказался на вершине Теплоотвода 871, где два поврежденных "Лэнд Рейдера" быстро уничтожили вибро-батареи. С фатально нарушенной защитой мятежников Стальной Легион Транкса заполонил брешь и начался долгий процесс зачистки оплота мятежников. В конце сражения Сиен подсчитал число попаданий в адамантиевую шкуру своего "Лэнд Рейдера" и обнаружил, что тот удачно пережил 132 вражеских выстрела.

EYE OF TERROR

Iron Hands

Medusa, the homeworld of the Iron Hands Chapter lies close to the Eye of Terror, and was subject to constant attacks from the forces of the Despoiler from the earliest phase of the Black Crusade. Given that Medusa is the only world from which the Iron Hands recruit new brethren, they were forced to defend it above all other considerations. Though at least two Iron Hands Clan Companies are known to have fought elsewhere in the defence of the region, the greater part of the Chapter confined its actions to their homeworld, where they fought lo stem the tide of Chaos filth.

At the height of the defence of Medusa, the gargantuan tracked fortress-monasteries of the ten Clan Companies came together to face an armoured assault launched by traitors of the excommunicated Haradni 13th Heavy Armoured Regiment. The dark, polluted landscape of Medusa was host to one of the largest gatherings of armoured might since the Battle of Tallarn during the Horus Heresy, with over ten thousand traitor tanks arrayed against the Iron Hands.

The ensuing battle reportedly raged for five days and nights, as armoured echelons consisting of thousands of tanks swept across the barren plains towards the mobile fortresses of the Iron Hands. When the fortresses' guns opened fire, it is said a hundred enemy battle tanks were destroyed, each Clan Company commanding firepower equivalent to a mighty Centurio Ordinatus of the Adeptus Mechanicus. At the height of the battle, on the fifth day, the enemy managed to break through the Iron Hands' lines, a single traitor armoured company outflanking one of the massive mobile fortresses and unloading round after round of ordnance upon its more vulnerable rear from nigh-on point-blank range.

The Iron Hands launched a furious counter-attack, Assault squads armed with meltabombs deploying from the crenelllated towers of the monastery to land atop the massed tanks. Many Iron Hands lost their lives in the counterattack, shot down by the tanks` pintle-mounted weapons as they swooped in, or ground beneath their tracks as they made near suicidal charges against them in defence of the monastery.

Despite the Iron Hands' losses, the counter-attack succeeded, disabling or destroying the majority of the traitor armour, and sending the remainder into a disorderly retreat. The Iron Hands then launched their own armoured assault on the traitors, massed formations of Predator Annihilators running down the enemy tanks and finishing them off with deadly-accurate lascannon lire.

With Medusa largely secured by the midpoint in the war, the Iron Hands could spare a number of Clan Companies to the defence of the Cadian system, and despatched a force to oppose the vast hordes of invaders threatening to overwhelm the naval world of Vigilatum.

Хоть я немного и запоздал к началу обсуждения данной темы, но все же решил высказаться. В октябре 2004 года Black Library выпустила очень интересную книгу “Iron Hands”. Так вот, я прочитал данную книгу с огромным удовольствием. Очень рекомендую прочитать ее, особенно если вы решили собирать данный капитул. Действия разворачиваются во время 13 похода Абадона и компании Eye of Terror.

That the Iron Warriors intimately connected the crews to their armoured vehicles in a similar way to dreadnoughts, and that by targeting points on the enemy tanks that could cripple the pilots the vehicles could easily be rendered inoperable. It has been suspected that the Iron Hands follow a similar practice to the Iron Warriors in this respect, and were protecting their own interests in suppressing this information. 9. The Brazen Claws are a second founding successor chapter of the Iron Hands who follow the dictates of the Codex Astartes more closely than their parent Chapter. How do they show to which company they belong to on their armour?

FOUNDING. The Scythes of the Emperor

Adeptus Astartes Chapter 874, The Scythes of the Emperor, were founded approx. M41.500 - 600, Their Genestock is speculated to have been that of the Ultramarines of the Ultramar Empire. The first and only Chapter Master was Thorcyra, a strategically minded leader. He would lead the Scythes for several centuries till his death upon the deathworld of Miral, forcing an escape with his Chapter from the jaws of Hivefleet Kraken.

As the Chapter grew in strength, their policing actions about the Eastern Fringe world of Sotha expanded. After eradicating pirates of both xenos and human, from the nearby mining colonies, the Scythes moved on to counter several Ork Migrations in the lower segmentum regions. They were one of many young Chapters in the region but it would be a far greater event to come that would mark them in history of the Imperium.

The Damocles Crusade

It was in the years following The Damocles Crusade against the Tau in M41.742 the Scythes of the Emperor would come to the forefront of Eastern Fringe warfare.

The Scythes led the first landing onto Tau territory, the world of Sy'L'Kell. After establishing the landing zone. The Brimlock Dragoons moved on to expand the Imperial foothold. The Dragoons were nearly destroyed by a Tau ambush which the Scythes, leading Imperial Storm Troopers, broke through averting a near disaster.

After claiming Sy'L'Kell, the Crusade moved to cross the Damocles Gulf. After a brutal first fleet engagement with the Tau, the Imperials landed on the a major Tau world of Dal'Yth Prime. Joining members of the venerated Ultramarines and Iron Hands Chapters, the Scythes were part of several spearhead assaults and kept up constant night patrols against Tau infiltrators during the months long fighting.

With news of a Hivefleet Behemoth bearing down upon the Eastern fringe and the stalemate between the two sides. The Crusade withdrew, though a mutual respect between both sides had been forged.

The Badab Wars

After the Badab wars (Rebellion led by the Tiger Claws Chapter - M41.901) the Chapter were charged to watch the forgiven Lamenters Chapter ( Performing a near century long penance crusade M41.907 - M41.997) for any further signs of revolt. Through this long watch both Chapters became firm allies.

Hivefleet Behemoth (M41.740)

The Scythes played little part in this first war, mainly recovering from actions againstt the Tau in the Damocles Crusade. Fortifying their homewolrd against possible Tyrannic attack also being undertaken.

The Arrival of Hive Fleet Kraken (M41.992 + )

Over 300 years since Hivefleet Behemoth, the Imperial Tarot began to tell of disaster 10 years before the arrival of Hive Fleet Kraken. Images of war haunted the Thorcyra and the astopaths. An uprising on the Factory World of Graia led to the deployment of the 3rd, 9th, and elements of the 10th companies to restore the Imperium's hold on the system. But during the Scythes invasion it became apparent that the uprising was caused by a Genestealer cult. After several months of combat and heavy casualities, the cult was finally crushed.

While returning home the Scythes forces from Graia encountered increasing disturbances in the warp. The Navigators suggested the Miral System to rest and wait out the warp storms. Here they encountered the remnants of their own Chapter, and learned of the overrunning of Sotha & the destruction of the Lamenters Chapter (The Lamenters made their last stand against the Tyranids at the Devlan System Sentinel Stations) by what the Imperium had now named 'Hive Fleet Kraken'.

Stories of desperate boarding actions against the Hiveships and their awakening occupants, close quarter combats and waves of attackers left dread in the hearts of the Scythes. With the Lamenters and their homeworld of Sotha gone, the Scythes found themselves cornered on the Deathworld of Miral. After planet fall the Scythes organised the Miral PDF to defend against what seemed to be an imminent assault.

Within a week the Tyranid were upon them. After countless, desperate, boarding actions and pitched land battles the Imperial forces chose a large rock mesa fortification known as the 'Giant's Coffin' from which to make a protracted last stand. After several weeks of fighting the Imperial forces attempted a breakout to leave the planet utilising a recently discovered Imperator Titan found inside the many labrynthine chambers of the mesa fortress.

In the counter-attack that led the withdrawal, barely a hundred Imperials escaped Miral. This was only achieved when the Titan inducted a core breach to eradicate a majority of their planet based pursuers. The survivors then fled back to Graia, losing several ships enroute to harrying vanguards of the Hivefleet. Once they made Graia, they set about organising the Graian defenders for the invasion that was surely to come.

It is the from the survivors of this great battle on Graia, that I draw out the heroes of the Scythes today..
