righto, tonight i was chatting to the local GW boss, when i asked about a future Necron codex stating that i didnt want to spend £400 on an army if the new codex is coming out this year, he promply stated "There are no necrons this year, its dark eldar" to which i replied "excuse me?" he promptly shut up and tried his best to change the subject but i persisted... and got nothing out of him, now usually i would dismiss this as GW staff "foging the truth" but i know this guy personally and would know if it was untrue(i.e he was lieing)

also as a manager i believe he would know what at least some of the line up is in the coming year, so take from this what you will ladies and gents, just passing on the tiny bit of info

So the latest 40k scheduling skuttlebutt says BOTH Dark Eldar and Necrons are well underway and headed towards us within the next 12 months. A variety of folks including some very good ones are saying to look for the new Dark Eldar Codex and 100% redone miniatures range to hit the shelves in the timeframe between Gamesday-UK 2010 and Christmas.

A bit of inside baseball for a Monday afternoon but we hear that big changes are coming to the North American Games Workshop retail stores...

Various sources say another restructuring is underway that will see a new model of single employee stores coming our way along with scaled back hours of operation. Its unknown if this is an across the board change, or only for a subset of retail locations, but apparently the new retail model has been tested in other parts of the world and is headed to a North American location near you.

Казалось бы, что нам с этой новости... но:

1. При шикарной прибыли в 2009 году, ГВ продолжает сокращать издержки, соотвественно были прикрыты некоторые ГД и турниры в Европе, скоре всего, в течение 2010 года это произойдет и с другими ивентами. Но вместо этого внутри ГВ планируют другой вид сотрудничетсва и с местными комьнити. Ну, и новые виды продвижения (например, собственное видео у них заглохло, зато их продвижением бесплатно занимаются бист от вор, которым предоставляется эксклюзив).

2. Новая модель, которую оттестировали в Европе, предполагает очень маленькие затраты и минимальный штат... скажем так, с такой моделью шансы открытия магазина у нас возросли на пару %.
