hi guys,

so when i went to GD italy I talked a thing like 10 mins with Alessio Cavatore and I asked him about codex necron if I could expect it for 2010 for august this is what he said to me ' not immediatly but yes it will come out' then when Alessio was doing the public presentation a guy near me asked ' why do you do Tyranids and BA and you don't look to races that really need a codex as necrons?' after this question there has been a general applause of about 30 seconds. Alessio so responded this 'well we did tyranids because as a miniature range they needed a re-pass necrons as miniatures aren't so bad (not true) but we are putting them as one of the races with the top priority so you could expect them'

So after this day I had a complete confirmation of necrons being released in 2010 (because GW works with a year of anticipation so Alessio was basically saying they are working on them whilst he was talking with me because if not he would have said not possibly or things like that) and partial confirmation of necrons in the summer but the rumor wasn't so solid ot post it in the GD italy topic.

Now I have a solid rumor to be posted in the rumor section, one of these days a guy who is a big piece of Gw italy came to my local GW store because he would have worked there for that day. I talked with him for some mins and he said to me that at a meeting he had in the past days with a GW UK head he could say that necrons will be released in summer between june and july.

So I cannot confirm with the perfect confidence but at a pretty 90% we could expect the necrons this summer and this is no more whishlist but a true and solid final rumor. I'm having my fingers crossed till another 100%

confirmation will come out.

Lots of crazy talk on various forums this weekend. Here is a rundown of what the community hivemind is trying to piece together from the intermittant chatter out there:

January: Tyranids

February: Beastmen

March-May: Blood Angels

June-July: Fantasy 8th Edition Rulebook

September: Fantasy 8th Edition Boxed Set

Fall: 40K mystery codex: ~hints regarding it are:

-"Blood Angels are only half of the story"

-"fleet based marines"

-"very nice stuff winging its way in our direction"

There is talk of 3 codices in 2010 for 40k

General dispositions of various 40k armies awaiting new codices are described as:

-Necrons: Deep in the development cycle

-Dark Eldar: Deep in the development cycle

-Grey Knights: Work started

-Witchhunters: Work Started

On the Fantasy front, Tomb Kings and Orks&Goblins are getting a certain level of chatter out there.

~Now as with all of this rumor stuff, serious caveats apply and there is quite possibly another 1-2 armybooks/codices in there for 2010. This stuff starts off solid and goes to soft as the dates go out. On the Necron/Dark Eldar front, the Necrons are obviously an easier update that the Eldar who are reportedly recieving a complete top-to-bottom update of their range.

ULTRAMARINES: Codex Pictures Announce Director and Writer!

Codex Pictures revealed today the director and screenwriter for the forthcoming Warhammer 40,000 movie ULTRAMARINES.

The director is Martyn Pick, whose credits include the 2009 film

on which he was animation director; London 2012, the promotional film commissioned by Film London and the London Development Agency which was premiered at the Beijing Olympics; the 2001 US Budweiser NBA commercial; and the celebrated BBC promotional trailers for the Euro 2004 soccer tournament. Martyn was chosen to direct Ultramarines for his renowned and highly distinctive ability to fuse live action and animation and the fluid, rich painterly style of his film-making.

The screenplay has been written by someone who needs no introduction to Warhammer 40,000 fans – best-selling author Dan Abnett. Dan has penned more than 25 books for Games Workshop’s Black Library, with total sales in excess of 1.2 million copies. He also works regularly for 2000 AD, Marvel Comics and DC Comics and has recently seen publication of the first of three novels for HarperCollins' new sci-fi, fantasy and horror imprint, Angry Robot.

ULTRAMARINES, a sci-fi thriller employing CGI and state-of-the-art production techniques, is being produced by Codex Pictures in association with Good Story Productions Ltd. The Canadian co-producer is POP6 Studios.

Multiple sources are now reporting that the new Tyranid codex ran afoul of some manner of printing error which will push the release date back about a week to mid January.

Broodlords are said to be a squad upgrade for Genestealers to allow the unit to count as troops, rather than the expected HQ selection.

The Trygon is said to be $49.50 USD and will allow construction of 2 (some say 3) different models (the Trygon and Mawloc)

The new Tyranid Battleforce is said to contains no new models, with the Carnifex being swapped for warriors and rippers.

Gaunts are reported as being split up into seperate boxes of Termagaunts and Hormagants (a dozen for @$24 USD), so if anyone wants to buy the current mixed box of gaunts, grab em while you can.
