So the "big" rulebook's out and what did we get? Tons of self-copying artwork, the very same four pages of rules with no massed army battle rules, scenarios (I'll give you that), but that's about it.

Measuring from the miniatures? I can already see people being total knobs about it putting a dark elf spearman to the very edge of the square base with a spear pointed forward to get an extra inch ahead. The formations? Didn't we have enough of that crap in the 40k already?

This book actually looks like a beta-version of the real ruleset.

So is it truly what I think it is? Long live Warhammer Fantasy?

Haha I agree some people will be knobs with modelling. But a simple solution is to just not play them :-) Or have a house rule measuring from the base

I will still play fantasy. All my new models will be on square bases so I can play both

Formations are annoying but again as long as you don't play an arsehole can be fun too

At the end of the day it is our hobby and we do what we like with it. GW just supply the pretty models for me

I agree, hobby is a hobby, and yes, I will still be playing Fantasy as well, but the 7th edition though. That one was the best in my opinion, and that's where that Skaven army truly shines lol. AoS is too drastic of a pace change for me, plus there are other games out there to try out.
