Ну и от себя насчёт одного момента Забавный всё-таки примарх Магнус. Как по своей воле положить большую часть легиона на Просперо, отказавшись выйти сдаться Руссу - так это нормально. Как отец предлагает ему взамен ТС выдать другой легион, да её и без порчи, раз уж прошлым он так "мудро" распорядился, и даже не быть отшлёпанным за то, что он с Паутиной сотворил - так "ужас-ужас, дядя Тзинч, спаси, всё прааааааааааааах!..". Это при том, что он уже имеет с тем же Ариманом и вообще с легионом прохладные отношения. К тому же лично я не понял, как уничтожение ТС спасло бы Магнуса.

3/4 -Enters a museum of lost human artifacts where Revelation (an avatar of the Emperor) invites Magnus into the throne room, having sent away the Custodes. -Magnus speaks with Revelation, then murders the avatar when it says it wanted to see what Magnus would do. -Magnus goes to ascend the steps to the Golden Throne and kill the Emperor’s true body, but not before Bjarki and Abidemi’s killteam appears, laying down fire against Ahriman, Amon, and Menkaura. To make this short, the Thousand Sons get btfo’d hard here. -Magnus is about to kill the Emperor, but pulls back, saying ‘I loved you like no other.’ Vulkan then enters. -A good talk about fire being a catalyst for change, and how fire can temper and strengthen certain things. -The Emperor opens his eyes and tells Magnus, “You are right where you need to be, my son.” -Takes Magnus on a warp journey to see what it would have been like had Horus never fallen, how Magnus is not missing anything but purpose at this point, and how they could reshape humanity without the interference of the ruinous powers. -Literally offers Magnus redemption, but Magnus asks what the price is, for he knows it could not be so easy. -The Emperor tells Magnus the XVth legion must be purged, that all of them have been tainted by the flesh-change, and that he will craft Magnus a new legion. -Horrified, Magnus looks at Vulkan and asks how he could make such an impossible choice, then throws his staff/spear at the Empror, which Vulkan deflects. -They duke it out, the dialogue is basically the end of Revenge of the Sith, but changed up a little so it doesn’t look like McNeil copied. It’s actually a heart-wrenching moment between Magnus and Vulkan here, because Vulkan admits even he could not have done it, but he wishes Magnus could be his brother again. -Zytos steps in to take a blow for Vulkan, and gets deaded. 4/4 -Vulkan enters barbarian rage and with the help of Abidemi and Gargo, beats Magnus to a pulp. Magnus asks if this is the end, but then gives himself to Tzeentch fully, his body restitched, and he proclaims All is Dust before the teleathesic ward banishes him and he takes his sons with him. -Alivia returns to life because perpetual, and having spoken with John Grammaticus and the Emperor in her perpetual-dream, she finds Malcadors body when she wakes, and gives him her lifeforce – seemingly with the help of the Emperor? It was a little unclear. -Malcador seems changed after this, but he refuses to speak of it. -Bjarki, Gargen, and Abidemi are approached by Loken and Garro, hinting they will become Grey Knights. -the book ends with Magnus contemplating the mirror he smashed in A Thousand Sons, noting how it has been restored by a piece of daemon-glass, and the warp infuses it. He decides he doesn’t hate his new self, and then turns to a Son of Horus and pledges himself to the Warmaster fully.

Abidemi has a vision of a green drake and one-eyed red drake fighting -Alivia is summoned by Malcador, and meets with Promeus and Bjarki’s wolf-team from the Crimson King. -Magnus gets a nice moment with Perturabo and requests he join the assault on Western Hemispheric. Perty doesn’t trust Magnus not to have ulterior motives, but agrees. -A Capitol Imperialis is about to explode after someone scored a penetrating hit, but Magnus freezes it in time, and then hurls it into the wall, breaching Western Hemispheric with an atomic-level explosion. -Bjarki and Abidemi team up to fight at the wall, getting there before the Imperial Fists or Blood Angels. -Bjarki summons the spirits of Nocturne and Fenris as Magnus enters biblical-angel state -Bjarki and Abidemi are being killed by the spirits sapping their life forces as they “drive off” Magnus, who uses this as an opportunity to cloak himself, Menkaura, Ahriman, Amon, and Ahriman’s new pal whose name is Ahristatrus or something appropriately forgettable. -Abidemi chops off Bjarki’s arm because Bjarki won’t let go and end the spell, so they don’t die. -Promeus interrogates Bjarki and Abidemi and realizes Magnus has infiltrated the palace, able to sense him due to his previous bond with the soul-shard of Magnus. 2/4 -Magnus’ troops seek the hall of Leng, seemingly-webway-like tunnels beneath the palace, but they have to go through the observatory to do so -Magnus realizes that even in disguise as Blood Angels, the refugees they pass are now terrified of Space Marines -A Phosphex bombing run finds a weak point above the palace shield-dome defenses after a bomber crashes, right above the observatory. -Magnus sheds the disguise and saves thousands of refugees taking shelter in the observatory, using a kine shield to prevent the phosphex from killing them -Promeus and the VIth and XVIIIth legionaires seem to find their own mystical way through a lightning-like gate of power? This was pretty weird, but lots of wolf and dragon stuff is. -Magnus comes across the primarch villas, where Malcador and Alivia wait for them, playing a game of regicide. There’s some elementary symbolism, Malcador tells Magnus he can be saved, and they discuss if Magnus is their for vengeance, or his soul. -Malcador comes just shy of apologizing for Prospero, but also says Magnus’ soul-shard is gone, and that it is not the best part of the Primarch, each shard was simply A part, which sends Magnus into a rage where he chokes out/incinerates Malcador. -Alivia gets shot in the back by Astrahasisiarfosufnwhatever and Magnus literally disassembles his atoms, leaving him dust in his armor (this was actually cool). -Magnus proceeds with intent to kill the Emperor.

Ну, новелла про Шрайка неплоха. У Торпа книги по ГВ не топ конечно, но лично ИМХО лучше книги Хейли. Хорошо о ГВ смогла Ересь от Форджи поведать. Посмотрим, короче. Будет интересно.

Ну, если бы там не осталось примарисов - вряд ли бы они смогли договориться с Байлом. Кстати, а как они такое название выбрали? У кого они исповедовались?

Здравствуйте. Хочется обсудить роман Masters of Shadow. Точнее, главные вопросы для обсуждения - где вообще можно найти эту книгу хотя бы ради прочтения аннотации (поиск в гугле даёт всё что угодно, кроме нужного - в основном по "Styx: Master of Shadows"). В теме литературы здесь, на фордже, нет даже её названия (либо я не видел). На варпфроге просто обозначено существование книги. Есть ли здесь нашедшие и читавшие? Можете ли описать впечатления от неё? О чём она вообще?
