You're quite a fun guy, you know that?
"Community backlash is not my concern, although I want my mod to have a big loving community"
Even UA, which I absolutely dislike, seems to have fairly active, frequently updated ModDB page, with a lot of people being active in the comments.
Why's that, I wonder? Maybe the development team of the mod has some kind of community managers, which, instead of belittling people and calling them stupid left and right, actually communicate with the community in some way?
Maybe they don't antagonize people for every "dumb" question they ask, even if those questions are sometimes reasonable and well mannered?
Maybe they don't knee jerk to every criticism they receive?
Maybe they have a nicely formatted ModDB page, which is actually pleasant to read and look at?
They don't force users to go around foreign resources, file hostings and whatnot to actually get the latest release of the mod? (Why is that still a thing in the current year? I'm pretty sure Tyranid Mod team members are long gone and they probably wouldn't give a shit about someone using their assets, what, 5 years later?)
I honestly have no idea about UA community in general, but they seem to have all of that at least to some extent.
You clearly lack social interaction skills in this area, but I don't blame you for that. People are people, they can be different.
What I blame you for, though, is your poor communication with already existing fanbase, lack of management on the ModDB page and complete lack of awareness that you brought all of this upon yourself. Your "lack of interest" in public life of the mod from the get go, coupled with your abysmal behavior, is the reason why so little people left in here to check the status of this project. Yes, this is a decade old game now. Even if new DoW games are not even remotely comparable to it, it's still a decade old game. It's not a big surprise that interest for it is dying out with time. Although, I sincerely think that your mod, with enough community management, could've changed that alone. After all, all later DoW games changed the gameplay formula too much to resemble the first game in any way.
Another issue of yours is that you don't consider "low interest" to be "interest" at all (at least that's what your posts imply). There's at least a dozen or two of people that STILL are very looking forward for the update, not going to lie, myself included. Yet even if the update is "ready" for years already, as you yourself say, you won't share it with those people because of "low interest". And boy, does that tell not very nice things about your ego.
I'm honestly not here to argue with you, nor to teach you manners. You do you. As much as I dislike your behavior and the way you interact with the remnants of this community, I still think your mod is one of the best DoW mods out there. So, once again, good luck to you and your mod.
